We marked Mental Health Awareness Week this year at Southbrook with Express Yourself Friday and a focus on positive Body Image during lessons and activities throughout the week. Things we looked at included: what our body can do rather than how it looks, healthy lifestyles happy hormones and how social media effects our self esteem. Whilst the week was a success, we know that Mental Health is something to be aware of all year round. There are some links on here which you may find useful. These resources include a range of things, including local Community Cafe’s, A ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing self-help booklet’, Family workshops and courses on Resilience and Wellbeing and many more.
Also, The YoungMinds website have lots of useful resources, including a Parent Helpline and a Crisis Messenger for Young People, available to access 24/7, which you can find on: https://youngminds.org.uk
